The Huntington Museum of Art will open the fourth exhibit in a two-year series when The Visual Elements: Color Presented by Garth’s Auctioneers & Appraisers goes on view on August 12, 2023. This exhibit continues on view at HMA through November 19, 2023.

Color represents the visual perception of certain visible wavelengths of electromagnetic energy. It can be manipulated by artists to describe, evoke, or provoke. Interpreting aspects of color is often fundamental to the viewer’s appreciation and enjoyment of visual artworks.
