The Huntington Museum of Art has named Lee Oxley of Huntington as its Volunteer of the Year for Fiscal Year 2024.
The Volunteer of the Year is chosen by the Museum’s staff through a vote. Staff members seek to award volunteers who regularly go above and beyond and work continuously to uphold the Museum’s three-prong mission of art, education, and nature.
For more than three decades, Oxley has served on HMA’s Board of Trustees first as a voting trustee and now as an Emeritus trustee and current Board Secretary. “He has been the Chair of the Investment Committee for many of those 30 years and oversaw an Investment Policy which strategically and safely has guided our investments,” said HMA Interim Executive Director Margaret Mary Layne. “He has served as Treasurer for many years and Chair of the Finance Committee for many years. He continues now to serve on those two committees. He has helped HMA find budget solutions. He has served as President of the Board more than once and steered HMA through the Recession.”
In addition to chairing the current Transition Committee, Oxley has also assisted with projects on the HMA grounds as a member of the Landscaping Committee. “He has given thousands of hours of his time to the Huntington Museum of Art, and we appreciate his many contributions to the success of HMA over the years,” Layne said.
