HMA to Present “LAND, SEA, AIR: Vistas & Viewpoints” Exhibit

The Huntington Museum of Art will present a new exhibit from its permanent collection titled LAND, SEA, AIR: Vistas & Viewpoints from Sept. 7 through Dec. 1, 2024.

“Our collection contains many landscape paintings and images of all kinds that represent the world around us. For this exhibit, we have focused on a limited number of them that, together, play with the definitions of viewpoint,” said John Farley, HMA Senior Curator/Exhibition Designer. “You’ll find some beautifully rendered scenes, as observed and recorded from particular vantage points, and our state and region are emphasized throughout the exhibit.”

Artists with works in the exhibit include Childe Hassam, Thomas Doughty, Julie Chen, Sally Gall, Daniel Kaufmann, Robert Singleton of Hardy County, West Virginia, and Huntington native Tina Williams Brewer.

This exhibit is presented with support from the City of Huntington Mayor’s Council for the Arts.

This exhibit is presented with support from The Isabelle Gwynn and Robert Daine Exhibition Endowment.

This program is presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
