The Museum Store at the Huntington Museum of Art has named the youth and adult winners in its 2024 T-shirt design competition with the theme: “To Enrich the Lives of All the People.” Visitors to HMA’s Facebook page voted Noah Patterson the adult winner and Kile Minnix the youth winner.
“We were so pleased with the number of youth and adult artists from our region who participated in our 2024 T-shirt design competition in addition to the number of people who voted,” said Mollie Ashworth, HMA Museum Store Manager. “We are looking forward to seeing the winning designs on T-shirts for sale here in HMA’s Museum Store. It will be so much fun to see people wearing the T-shirts out and about in our community as well.”
Artists entering the competition had to live within 50 miles of the Huntington Museum of Art; submit an original design; and follow all the competition rules.
The two winning T-shirt designs will be screen printed on T-shirts and sold in the Museum Store, with the winner of each age group receiving their design on a free shirt for themself and up to four immediate family members. The winning designs have been posted on HMA’s Facebook page. The winner in each category will receive a $500 cash prize and a $25 HMA membership, which is good for 12 months and includes a 10 percent discount in HMA’s Museum Store.
The T-shirt competition theme comes from a guiding principle that HMA has embraced and prominently displays in its Virginia Van Zandt Great Hall.
