The winners of the Young Illustrator’s Contest conducted by The Cabell County Reading Council will be recognized at the Huntington Museum of Art on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, at 6 p.m. Admission to this 4th Tuesday Tour Event is free. Light refreshments will be served.
“The Huntington Museum of Art appreciates our long-standing relationship with Cabell County Schools and the Cabell County Reading Council,” said HMA Director of Education Cindy Dearborn. “For years HMA has been displaying the winners in The Young Illustrator’s Contest in the Education Gallery. This year we will continue to display the winning artworks and also honor the young artists during a special 4th Tuesday Tour Event.”
The Young Illustrator’s Contest, which has been taking place for more than 25 years, honors one student in each grade from kindergarten through 12th grade. Winners were selected from Central City Elementary; Meadows Elementary; Salt Rock Elementary; Barboursville Middle; Huntington High School; Cabell Midland; and the Cabell County Career Technology Center.
The 4th Tuesday Tour Series at HMA takes place on the fourth Tuesday of each month and features a guided tour, guest speaker or other special event. HMA offers free general admission on Tuesdays when hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Free Tuesdays at HMA are generously presented by the City of Huntington Mayor’s Council for the Arts.
